June has been a busy month so far!!!

So, a couple of "firsts" I wanted to blog about this from the month of June...

1.We are now in the "big boy bed" a.k.a. toddler bed. This happened after Baker escaped his crib during nap time one Sunday afternoon this month. So far, so good. He really seem to like it.

2.First trip to the Zoo! We went to the zoo with Shanon, Carson and Mary Ellis for Baker's first time. He LOVED it!!! This may have been in May, but anyway here are some pics.

3.First Luau! April hosted the 1st annual Cahaba Heights Luau. Baker had so much fun and really enjoyed the pool!

4.First Hike! We went to Cloudland Canyon on Father's Day weekend w/ my parents, newphews and Grandmother. We had so much fun(except when Eric got sick - boo)! We hiked down into the canyon. Baker got to ride, but he did a little hiking when we started off with his walking stick that PawPaw made for him. That way, he could earn his Cloudland Canyon badge for this stick for real!
Off they go! See you at the bottom!

They made it! Luke, Eric and Baker are taking a break and looking for bugs under rocks...boy stuff.Happy Father's Day, Paw Paw! Eric, don't forget the yellow fish.Luke, Wyatt and Sallie on the cabin rock.

Also, I got to spend last week with a group of our Trinity kids at Camp Fletcher for Day Camp. We had so much fun!!! Canoeing, ropes course, swimming, arts and crafts and Bible time in the hot AL heat...what more could you ask for? These kids are great and I feel blessed that I get to hang with them!

And he said to them, "Go into all the world and proclaim the good news to the whole creation." - Mark 16:15

We know our colors!

Baker has been practicing and wants to show off his new knowledge. I think he is pretty proud of himself. We are proud of him too.

Memorial Day - Beach Trip

I have to start out with a big thank you to April and the Gordons for making our trip so much fun. We love you guys! We stayed at April's grandmother's condo for the weekend of Memorial Day. Bapel's place is so great!!! The kids(Baker and Kate) had a fun time together too. The weather was wonderful on Sunday and we stayed on the beach most of the day. Baker and Kate fell in love with the water. We had to take turns holding them in it. There was lots of sand play as well. The girls got to do our Circle of Love and the boys got to people watch at Tootsies. Fun was had by all!!!

We went to Pier Park one afternoon and the kiddos got to ride the carousal 4 or 5 times. We went to Dusty's after that and they got to feed the gigantic fish in the lake behind the restaurant. We did lots of good cooking at the condo too. Good friends, food, and drink = a fantastic vacation! Thanks again guys!
Lori took these pictures while we were there and as usual she did an awesome job! The talent here is amazing. I think we need to go on every vacation together. I never really got out my camera.

Baker loved the sand and the water this trip. I think we may have a little fish on our hands. My sweet Goddaughter, Kate! She is the most loving little thing.Ready to ride!!!

Sullenger Girl Cousins Trip

This year for our "Girl Cousin's Trip" we went to Cloudland Canyon for the weekend of May 15-17. We had such a fun time. Baker was our little fella in attendance and was the entertainment for the weekend. He had a blast and truely enjoyed the great attention from the 14 women on the trip. He wasn't the only little boy on the trip with us, however. My cousin Jenny is expecting a little boy in September so Baker better take all of the stage while he can.

We stayed in 2 cabins right off of the campground and canyon trail. We got to do lots of hiking/walking, playing on the playground, and lots of EATING. The ladies on this trip love cooking and eating. I look forward to this time every year. We are so blessed to have such a loving family!
Baker found that Cool Whip is a goooood thing!

We went for a long walk. Perfect for a nap.

Life is good!

Baker's 1st trip to the beautiful Gulf of Mexico!

My grandfather always corrected us when called the water at Panama City Beach the ocean..."it's the Gulf!" he would say.

Well, Baker, Eric and I went to the Gulf, May 1-6 with Aunt Jen and Uncle Jeremy. Jennifer's parents gave us their condo for the trip and what a treat! We are so thankful for their generosity.

Baker loved the sand, but wasn't too crazy about the waves crashing at his feet. The weather was great on Saturday and Sunday, but it was pretty overcast the rest of the trip. That was okay though. We found lost of other fun things to do.

This trip involved lots of first for Baker:
  • 1st trip to the beach
  • 1st "real" big sandbox
  • 1st time to ride a carousal and train
  • 1st time to eat at the Waffle House(Eric loves this first.)
  • 1st time to really eat bacon and hot dogs(there may still be some hope for this fruitatarian!)
  • 1st time to see a real alligator

This isn't the real gator. Check out those teeth!
We had a really bright day!

"Ready or not, here I come."

The boys build sand castles.

Baker loved the Carousal at Pier Park.

Baker, hold on tight!!!

Stay tuned...more to come. We are headed to the beach with April and the Gordons this weekend.

Easter 2009

This was our first big Easter at Trinity UMC. It was amazing! The whole experience was just beautiful. Everyone was on top of the world that morning. A big day for all!!!
The children grew butterflies during Lent and were able to release them at the cross made of flowers on Easter morning. Truly and amazing sight!!!
