Thanksgiving 2010

A family tradition....every year we get to spend Thanksgiving Day with a large part of our extended family from all over. Each year it seems to grow. I think there has been a new baby born in family every year for the past 6 yrs. At the Sligh's we got to spend the day with over 40 family members and ended the day with the Baswells with family visiting from TX. The pics below show a little taste of the day.

Baker turns 3 - September 18, 2010

Birthday boy is sick and the party happened anyway! So sad, but the good news is that he felt much better at the end of his day. So it happened like this...early Saturday morning(Sept 18 Baker's actual birthday) Mommy is at the church gym setting up for the party and Daddy is bring Baker right before everyone gets there. We'll everything was ready to go and Baker arrived and Baker barfed and got a fever as soon as he stepped in the gym. In seconds Baker left and guest started arriving. Poor thing...still makes me so sad to think about it. We had an abbreviated party with play time for the kids and snacks and cupcakes(we saved the Baker requested Thomas cake for the next day when he felt better). I think everyone had fun, except for the Birthday Boy!

That evening Baker started to come around from a long birthday's nap and saw the gifts piled in front of the couch and it was ON!!! He start opening and playing and playing and playing and he got to stay up until midnight(well, he had slept ALL day). The next day he got several other birthday surprises including Thomas the Train cake(including Happy B'day sung by Mom and Dad) and an afternoon show of "Choo Choo Soul w/ Geniveve" at Alys Stephens Center(thanks for the tickets Heath). It ended up being a wonderful 3rd birthday. To this day, when I ask Baker about what his birthday was like he says, "Well Mama, it was in the gym and I threw up and went home and got to open lots of trains and had Thomas the Train cake and I love that Thomas the Train from my cake!" The toy train is a perk when you order from Publix.

Here are some pictures from the Birthday weekend:
